Toxic Friends ~ {Book Giveaway} ~ 2 Winners

GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED
I was Blessed to receive a copy of
Toxic Friends: The Antidote for Women Stuck in Complicated Friendships by Susan Shapiro Barash for Review
St. Martin's Press
ISBN13: 9780312386399
ISBN: 0312386397

A woman can always count on are her friends—right? But what if those friendships are hurtful, harmful, even toxic? Susan Shapiro Barash explores the ten types of female friends and shows you why and how women get stuck with the worst kinds, the ways to get “unstuck, and how to recognize a true friend.”

For example:
  • The Leader of the Pack—it’s all on her terms
  • The Doormat—and why you’re the one paying the price
  • The Misery Lover—she wants to feel your pain. Really.
  • The User—and why you seldom see her coming
  • The Trophy Friend—and what you gain from each other
Provocative and fascinating, Susan Shapiro Barash looks at the bonds (and bondage) of female friendships in a new light.

I'll tell ya, I really LOVED this book!! The chapter I loved best was uplifting and showed me the true characters of my "Authentic Friend."
  • Empathetic
  • I can count on her in any circumstance
  • She knows her bounds
  • I can {but I don't :) } loose touch with her for many months or years then pick up immediately
  • We have the same worldviews
  • It wouldn't matter if we didn't have the same worldviews :)
I am Blessed to have 3 of these friends!!
This wonderful book will help you discover which of your friends are worth keeping and which ones require too high a price.

Here's a sneek peek about the book...

I learned that "Losing a female friend can have more repercussions for a woman than breaking up with a boyfriend or a husband."
I think that may depend quite a bit on the boyfriend, husband and female friend, but the book looks like an interesting and thought provoking read. brennaboo/gmail
