The FruitGuys ~ Organic 25 Piece Fruit Crate Giveaway ~ 2 Winners!!

GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED
The FruitGuys is the industry leader in providing farm-fresh produce to the American workplace. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in San Francisco, The FruitGuys has pioneered this fast-growing category that provides viable solutions to the ever-challenging workplace health crisis. The company was founded on the premise that bringing healthy brain food to the office can boost productivity, improve wellness and help companies improve their bottom lines.

The FruitGuys provides fresh seasonal fruit from local farms to thousands of American businesses, from small family-run businesses to major Fortune 500 corporations. The FruitGuys has been called upon by some of the most well-known businesses in the nation, including Littler Mendelson, Yahoo!, Yamaha, VMWare, Wells Fargo, among thousands of other industry leaders.

Organic fruit available nationwide.

I was Blessed to receive an Organic Fruit Crate for review...
  • Convenient
  • Support your local farmers
  • Choose your own order size and frequency
  • Eco-friendly reusable packaging
  • Fun & informative - Recipes are included inspired by your weekly fruit mix :)
I received the East Coast Organic Fruit Crate and when I tell you this was jammed full of the freshest most delicious fruit EVA I'm not exaggerating! There was a variety of apples, oranges, pears, avocados, bananas, grapefruit, kiwis, and tangerines (eating one of 'em right now as a matter of fact!) When I say variety I mean VARIETY. There were several kinds of apples and three types of pears (and I love pears.) The box arrived in PRISTINE condition and not one piece of fruit was bruised! Each piece was farm fresh. YUP, and that's saying a lot!

The avocado was so perfectly ripe! My Little Guy absolutely loved it! I felt so good knowing I was giving him organic produce that was good for him!

Fruit will vary depending on what's in season the week you order but the box below is an accurate representation of what you get and how FULL your box will be :)

The FruitGuys
makes a FABU gift! Choose between a crate of the most delicious Fresh Fruit in season or their Farmer's Kitchen gift which includes scrumptuous seasonal fruit plus specialty items like raw almonds, heirloom beans, baking mixes, fruit butters & jams hand crafted in your recipient's area. You can even include a free, hand written card within each crate. Every FruitGuys gift includes their 100% quality guarantee and legendary customer support. Click HERE for more information.

I LOVE COMPANIES THAT GIVE BACK

The FruitGuys launched their Farm Steward Program in April 2008 to support sustainable small family farming. They donate 88,000 pounds of fresh fruit a year (more than 7,000 pounds a month) to non-profit groups and regional food pantries nationwide, such as Somethin' Fresh. With your support, they sent over 7,000 pieces of fresh fruit to food-banks and programs for families in need over the winter holidays with their Donate-A-Crate Program.

I've had fruit from mail order places before. Yeah, it LOOKS pretty. But invariably it tastes a lot like the cardboard packaging. Worse yet, I've had pristine looking fruit with problems...rotted cores for example, which are definitely a handling issue!

I wanted to see how the Fruit Guys went about providing "seasonal" fruit to places where fruit is not in season (like Ohio in winter time). The fruit comes from the west Coast. Ah-ha! The varieties are okay...mostly things I can find in my large grocery store which are conventionally grown. For the number of servings (I'm assuming that a "serving" equals one piece of fruit...which may be incorrect), the price is very good for organic fruit that is shipped through the mail.

I'd sure like to see who the farmers are that wholesale to the Fruit Guys. Also wonder if they add in unique varieties or fruits (gooseberries? kumquats? heirloom apples and pears?) or if the standard commercial varieties (organic, though, hurrah) are all that's available.

Okay, so I am a fruit person...I grow it, love it, and am even a member of a fruit organization (North American Fruit Explorers)...so have a bit more critical eye!
