I have to admit, I was NOT a huge cottage cheese lover! My twin sister adores it. I’m gonna let you in on a gross secret. As a little girl I LoVed cottage cheese mixed with grape jelly! How disgusting is that?

So when my friends at Daisy Brand asked me if I would like to do a Product Review and Giveaway I took a look at the website and decided to give it a whirl and here’s why…

Daisy Cottage Cheese is a distinctively special cottage cheese. From how it’s made to the first fresh taste, the product’s unique attributes make it attractive to many. Each tub is specially sealed to be as fresh the day it is opened as the day it was made, so each taste will be creamy and deliciously fresh.

Unlike most cottage cheeses, Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese is made with 100% natural ingredients, and no additives, preservatives, or artificial growth hormones. I didn’t realize that other brands use non-dairy thickeners such as starches and gums in their product. That’s so wrong!

I was Blessed to receive some Daisy Cottage Cheese for review and to be honest, it was quite good! Daisy Cottage Cheese is Gluten free and Kosher for those with dietary restrictions. It’s also available in a low fat version (2% milkfat) for those following a low fat diet. With just 90 calories per ½–cup serving you can enjoy a 100% natural low fat cottage cheese without giving up the creamy, delicious taste of Daisy Cottage Cheese! (Just an FYI regular Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese has just 20 calories more per serving, with 4% milkfat.)

I found I really like to eat my cottage cheese with fresh fruit! A scoop of Daisy Cottage Cheese and some peaches makes a tasty and filling light lunch that keeps me satisfied for hours! I also love to mix diced red, green and yellow peppers and a ton of spices into my Daisy Cottage Cheese then top this on a Garden Ripe Tomato! Pretty tasty. ( I admit it! I was wrong about cottage cheese!)

Light Broccoli & Cheese Pasta
Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Time To Table: 20 Minutes
Serves: 2

Ingredients

• 1 heaping cup penne pasta
• 1/2 cup broccoli flowerettes
• 1 cup Daisy Brand Cottage Cheese
• 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
• 4 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese + 1 teaspoon

Cook pasta and broccoli according to package directions. Toss cottage cheese with the hot pasta, hot broccoli, black pepper and 4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Divide into two oven-safe bowls and sprinkle each with 1/2 teaspoon of Parmesan cheese. Lightly broil for approximately two minutes or until slightly browned and serve. *Optional – try adding other vegetables for a heartier meal.
