The Oreck Corporation is a family-owned American business founded in 1963 by David Oreck. It began by manufacturing upright vacuum cleaners for the U.S. hotel industry and now sells vacuums used in hotels and homes throughout North and South America, as well as Europe and Asia.
David Oreck started the company with the idea to design a lightweight yet powerful vacuum that hotel housekeepers would prefer over the heavy models available to them. I’ve had my eye on an Oreck for years! When I found out I was going to be doing a Product Review and Hosting a Giveaway for the Oreck Halo UV-C Vacuum Cleaner my hands started to shake! I was that excited. I can honestly say I like to vacuum! People actually think I’m a clean freak! Ha! Do you know how dirty a carpet can get? FILTHY!

- There can be more germs on household floors than on toilet seats, kitchen counters and bathroom tiles COMBINED! Can you say ewww!?

- A child can swallow the amount of dirt on six kitchen floor tiles daily.

When my Oreck Halo arrived we put it together (pretty easy, Hubby helped) and we both took it for a spin! It was a bit heavier than I expected. But that’s fine! I love that you can turn the beater brushes off (great for hardwood or tile floors). The height adjustment is great for that purpose as well.
The UV light is in the handle and all you need to do to activate is depress it while vacuuming. Easy Peasy! I was stunned by how powerful the Halo was! My carpets looked amazing after I was finished vacuuming. The suction is incredibly strong! I vacuum everyday with a great vacuum. However, I could SEE a HUGE difference with just ONE vacuuming with my Oreck Halo UV-C Vacuum Cleaner.

Now, what about what I couldn’t see? Conventional vacuums suck! Well, errr, I mean they literally do just suck! 
They can’t do the whole job! Even after being cleaned with a conventional vacuum, carpets and floors can still be covered with germs and dust mite eggs. My Little Guy crawls around on my carpets! I am so horrified! I want a clean looking carpet, but I also want a carpet that’s relatively germ free. Don’t get me started on chemical cleaners! NOT CUTE!
