AC Delco “Knowledge is Power” Prize Package {Giveaway} 5 Winners

GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED
How much do you know about your car?  Have you ever taken your car in for repairs and felt helpless? Maybe you don’t understand how important regular maintenance on your vehicle is, or you’re just afraid to bring it to the shop because you just don’t know how to explain what the problem is.

Did you know that 85% of women control or influence buying decisions, including the purchase and maintenance of vehicles. I always say ‘the hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.”   However, I know I feel intimidated bringing my car into an automotive shop for repairs or maintenance.

ACDelco — a global leader in automotive replacement parts and related services created Knowledge is Power, a program in which the parts company equips vehicle services facilities all across the country to run seminars for women that want to know how to prevent problems, diagnose them correctly when they do occur, and get ’em fixed.

ACDelco created a free a 16-page “Knowledge Is Power” informational booklet that focuses specifically on female customers.  It’s easy to print out and keep in your glove box or save it on a mobile device for when trouble strikes. 🙂

The “Knowledge Is Power” booklet provides women with an overview of basic vehicle maintenance so you’ll feel better prepared to discuss repairs and maintenance with their service provider and to make more informed choices.  The booklet contains a wealth of information and is written in easy to understand language.  You’ll find information on..

  • Regular Maintenance
  • How to recognize problems
  • Talking to your technician
  • Safety on the road
  • Summer and winter travel tips
  • Emergency road kit
  • Avoiding collisions
  • Defensive driving tips
  • How to take care of your vehicle
  • Helpful websites

You may want to print out the “Knowledge is Power” booklet and give it to your Daughter, Mom and BFF!  This booklet could be a life-saver.

I was Blessed to receive an AC Delco “Knowledge is Power” Prize Package for review.

Having good tire tread can increase gas mileage. Tires should be rotated every 6-8,ooo miles for equal wear. Oil changes are recommended every 6-7500 miles.

I learned that to drive defensibly, you should…Watch driving on curves. Drive at a reasonable speed, which may mean
you need to drive slower than the posted speed limit. Driving at a high
speed around curves could cause you to lose control.
    • Trail the brakes. This means to ease off the brake pedal slowly as you
turn into a corner. It keeps the weight on your front steering tires, creating
    more traction for the turn.
    • Elevate your vision. Things come at you fast when you look only at the
vehicle in front of you. Look 10 to 15 vehicles ahead and you’ll find that
everything comes at you more predictably.

I learned the condition of your tires can affect your gas mileage (very important with these high gas prices!) and that your tires should be rotated every 6000-8000 miles. Thanks!

    Booster seats
Should be used if a child weighs between 80 and 100 pounds and
is less than 4’10” in height.

The condition of your tires affect everything from handling to gas mileage. Lap belt should be worn low and snug on the hips, just touching the thighs. Shoulder belt portion should be worn across the chest and over the shoulder.

    I learned this:
“The condition of your tires can affect everything from handling to
    gas mileage
    • Keep a tire pressure gauge in your car and check all your tires frequently
    • Recommended tire pressure can usually be found on a decal or sticker
    inside the driver’s door
    • Tires should typically be rotated every 6,000 to 8,000 miles to
    equalize tire wear”
