We like to make meal times fun for Our Little Guy! He is mostly feeding the floor himself now. Our plates are absolutely off limits to him as they are breakable. Our flatware is too heavy and large for him to handle. Plastic bowls and plates concern me because you never know what they will leech into the food. So when Dandelion Earth-Friendly Goods contacted me to review their Natural Tableware I was a happy Gramma!

Natural corn plates, bowls & utensils help ease the transition to solid foods and self feeding. Because they’re lightweight and Reusable, they’re also perfect for lunches boxes, diaper bags and picnics!
When I first saw, held and used these nifty products, I couldn’t believe they were made out of corn! Yes, Corn! Dandelion Earth-Friendly Goods uses a unique corn (PLA) formula. Unlike conventional plastic, which is largely made from petroleum, their bioplastic is primarily made from corn! Polylactic acid (PLA) requires significantly less fossil resources, and generates far fewer green house gases than conventional plastic. And corn is a renewable and sustainable resource.
The Corn Divided Plates come two to a package. These are great for keeping foods separate. My Little Guy likes a ‘sauce’ to dip his food into and I put that in one of the partitions. The Corn Utensils and Feeding Spoons are sized perfectly for little mouths and hands. My little guy has very little trouble spearing his food with his Corn Fork and getting it into his mouth. I love the smaller size spoons which hold just the right amount of yogurt, oatmeal and other soft foods.
Natural Tableware is very durable, however it is not microwavable. I wash my pieces in the dishwasher top rack. Be cautious if you place the feeding utensils in the bottom rack, as they melt easily.
