GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED
Rose Anne Colavito, founder of MimicCreme, couldn’t believe it. She was pretty knowledgeable about food, having worked in the restaurant business and then later catering to professional musicians, but when doctor’s orders called for eliminating dairy products from the family menus, she was unable to find a single substitute for cream that didn’t ruin her favorite recipes, including those for ice cream and semifreddo. She tried many different non-dairy substitutes (none of them approximating that consistency of cream.) Soy products. Rice products. All kinds of different grain products. All just inferior.
So, Rose Anne figured there was nothing else to do but create that perfect CREAM substitute herself. By trying a series of combinations and permutations with a variety of ingredients she finally arrived at the right blend of flavor, taste and texture. That’s how MimicCreme, the product, and the company, was born! MimicCreme has been tasted and tested by some pretty demanding chefs since it’s creation. The unanimous conclusion? MimicCreme really does ‘mimic’ the taste of real cream!
I was Blessed to receive a few MimicCreme Products for review.
Unsweetened MimicCreme is the product to reach for whenever a recipe calls for cream. Use it the same way and in the same amounts as you would regular dairy cream. Unsweetened MimicCreme can be used in gravies and sauces to thicken and enrich them, in omelets to make them light and fluffy and in your veggie alfredo! It can be used in hot tea or coffee, but I noticed that it tends to separate a bit, although it still tastes really great! Psst if your lookin’ for coffee creamer check out MimicCreme Coffee Creamers. Unsweetened MimicCreme is made from a blend of almonds and cashews mixed with a few other ingredients to create a rich creamy non-dairy, lactose-free, gluten-free, vegan cream substitute.
Sweetened & Sugar-Free Sweetened MimicCreme Whether you use the version with cane sugar or the version with a natural sugar substitute, MimicCreme makes it possible for you to create delicious dairy free desserts. Made from a healthy blend of Almonds & Cashews. Since these products don’t contain soy there’s no beanie aftertaste. The Sweetened MimicCream is similar to sweetened condensed milk and works well in recipes that call for sweetened cream. Sugar-free Sweetened MimicCream has zero glycemic index and is a great solution for people concerned about their sugar intake. Hubby and I have used both of these products in the ice cream machine instead of dairy ingredients. They work incredibly well. The taste and texture are both fabulous. I like adding a splash of the Sugar-Free MimicCreme to smoothies. It adds a great taste and creamy texture. Once these products are open be sure to keep them refrigerated and use within 14 days.
Healthy Top is the first totally Non-Dairy, Non-Soy, shelf-stable Whipping Cream. Place this in the freezer about an hour before you plan to use it for the best results. And if you want to make a lighter version, just add ½ cup of ice water to 1 pint of freezing cold Healthy Top and beat to a lite stiff whip. Healthy Top is delicious on pies, cakes, ice cream and cobblers!
If you are a vegan and have given up on whipped cream, then please give Healthy Top a try. It adds that festive extra somethin’ somethin’ to even the simplest desserts!!!

I really want to try the Healthy Top Whipping Cream because since going vegan, whipped topping is the one substitute I have been unable to enjoy. I’ve tried the one out of the can (I won’t name any names) and it just tastes too metallic and it has a nasty aftertaste.
