GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED Mike Miller first thought of the idea for the Knork while eating pizza with a group of friends. Trying to eat pizza with a normal fork, he realized what a struggle it was.  Once he saw an employee cutting pizzas in the back with a pizza cutter and taking pictures of people of all ages using a regular fork, Mike combined all this into one utensil that was suitable for all ages and right or left handed users. The idea then sat for four years until graduating from high school.

After attending a few years at Kansas State University with a medical degree in mind, the idea for the Knork still remained. Being 20 years old at the time, he decided to return home to Wichita and take business classes at Wichita State University. Mike’s first step was establishing parent company Phantom Enterprises in October 2000. He then pursued a patent by researching and developing a prototype. Using one of his mother’s forks as a base, he used Bondo, a car modeling compound, to create a model. Today, the Knork is properly patented, produced and marketed and is on the ‘cutting edge’!

Dinner time rolls around these days and I’m setting the table a little different!  Dinner plates, drinking glass, Dinner KNORK, Salad KNORK, Place Knife, Place Spoon and Teaspoon.  No those aren’t typos friends!  I found a company that sells an innovative line of flatware and not only is it incredibly beautiful and modern looking.  It’s a blast to eat with.  It takes a lot to get my kids hootin’ and laughin’ over flatware!  When my box of Knork Flatware arrived everyone was very curious and couldn’t wait to get it out of the box and take it for a spin!

Did you ever sit down to enjoy a nice piece of _____ (insert yummerlicious food of choice here).  You had your plate of food and a fork.  Forget the knife!  A fork will do just fine for this lovely little snack, meal, or whatever it is you are about to indulge in. 

You carefully take the edge of your fork and try to cut a dainty little bite of that ‘somethin’ somethin’ on your plate only to find out that it’s either to rubbery, hard, chewy or crispy.  Well shoot!  You have two choices!  Either get up and get that knife you should have gotten in the first place or pick up that tasty snick snack and eat it with your hands.  (Please!  Don’t look at me like you’ve never done that!  I know you have! )

Oh I forgot, you could do what Sweet Pea does.  Spear the entire thing on your fork and proceed to eat it like it’s a candy apple! Or as I call it eating barbarian style!

What you should have done was grabbed a Knork!  Don’t get me wrong, I will never give up my knives but there are times when I just want to use one utensil.  The fork is great for piercing and spearing food, but as far as cutting foods, it’s a total dud!

The Knork is shaped like a fork, but it’s combination of several modifications allow the Knork to cut without harming the user. The rounded, thinned tines create a beveled edge that allows the user to use a rocking motion to cut through foods.
