I have the pleasure of having a guest poster reviewing this product!  It’s none other than Hubby the Hubster; lover of all things techy and owner of many gizmos and gadgets! He just received a new computer so this is the perfect accompaniment.  The guy knows his stuff as you’ll see from his review.  Pssst, I had to Google the word dongle.  (I admit, the word sounds absolutely filthy to my non-techy ears!)   Take it away Hubby!

The Targus Wi-Fi Laser Mouse is a wonderful companion to my new laptop.  “Wifey” bought me a lovely new ASUS laptop computer for my Birthday.  While the machine is wonderful anyone can find comfort in a mouse attached to their laptop.

Leslie Loves Veggies was blessed to receive the Targus Wi-Fi Laser Mouse for review.  This pointing device is sleek, comfortable, and just the right weight to make smooth scrolling and accurate point n’ click functioning.  The side of the mouse has soft “grippy” rubber material which feels very comfortable to the touch providing a high level of control from hand to mouse to screen.  The overall size of the device fits comfortably under the hand.  It is an excellent pairing for the laptop.

Most times I use my laptop in a small confined space.  The mouse fits comfortably under the upper palm allowing the wrist and lower palm of the hand to rest on a pad.  This gives an added level of control that a larger clumsy mouse device cannot attain. The mouse has become such a necessary device in society that humans have developed specific disease processes from the excessive use of such devices. Comfort and ergonomic function is the key to avoiding musculoskeletal repetitive injuries.

Anyway, might I digress, set up of the Targus Wi-Fi Laser Mouse was easy, quick, and now I have the ease of a mouse for the laptop without a wire or dongle protruding from the side of the machine.  Now I don’t have to worry about wearing out the touch pad buttons on my beautiful new laptop.  Did I tell you that Wifey purchased it for my birthday? Anyway, the Targus Wi-Fi Laser Mouse supports Windows 7 task switching which is a great feature.  The mouse’ scroll wheel has a gentle clicky feel, which allows for precision roll n’ scroll action.

Preparing the Targus Wi-Fi Laser Mouse for use with the laptop was easy

1. Load batteries (2 AAA) provided in the package
2. Load mouse driver from provided CD-ROM or the TARGUS website.
3. Use the pairing function in the Targus Wi-Fi Laser Mouse software.

That’s it. After about five minutes the driver was installed and the mouse was coordinating the pointer movements on my screen The really neat aspect about this wireless mouse is the connection via Wi-Fi. There is no dongle occupying a USB port.

I’ve used other Targus products for several years now. I have enjoyed aspects of durability, comfort, form, and function in these products. With the Targus Wi-Fi Laser Mouse I now have the ultimate in high function, comfort, portability, and durability in a wireless mouse.
