I was Blessed to receive a Britax FRONTIER 85 Car Seat for me and My Little Guy to review.

This is the car seat that is going to grow with my Little Guy.  The Britax 85 is not only a car seat it’s a booster seat!  It’s called a harness to booster seat.  Used in the harness mode it’s appropriate for children 2 years & 25, up to 85 lbs.  In the booster mode this seat can accommodate children weighing up to 120 lbs who are up to 5’5”.

When the car seat arrived Hubby and I took it out of the box and inspected it.  It’s incredibly sturdy, cushy and so well made.  Hubby smiled and remarked at the two cup holders which are a standard feature on the Britax FRONTIER 85 Car Seat.  While not a safety feature it is neat for child to be able to keep their sippy cup close at hand while traveling!  What really impressed Hubby and I were the safety features, which is the reason why you purchase a car seat in the first place.

Product Safety Features

True Side Impact Protection – Side impact crashes are the most serious ones. These can cause serious head, neck and spine damage if your child is not restrained properly in his car seat.  True Side Impact Protection offers an extra layer of energy-absorbing foam in the head area and keeps the head, neck and spine in true alignment in case of a crash.  Energy absorbing foam is placed within the deep walls to distribute crash forces, shield the body and contain the head, neck and body should an accident occur.

Highest Five-Point Harness Seat Capacity allows your child to remain harnessed up to 85 lbs and is comprised of straps or webbing that extend over your child’s hips, shoulders/collar bones, and between their legs. There is no tangling, and the harness heights can be adjusted as your child grows.  10 positions make for a perfect fit and there are 3 buckle positions to keep your child fastened securely.

Quick-Adjust, No-Rethread Harness – A quick-adjust harness system allows you to adjust the height of the harness straps without having to detach the straps from the metal yoke on the back of the seat, re-thread them through a new slot and reattach them to the metal yoke.  This makes repositioning the shoulder height easy peasy which allows for a snug fit and that minimize injury in case of a crash.
