I’m always looking for healthy, whole foods to feed my family!  It’s exciting when I find something that’s new to me and is not only healthy but tastes great too.  I’ve been familiar with Chia for quite a while but had never heard of Salba until recently.

I was Blessed to receive a variety of Salba Smart Products for review.  Hubby loves tortilla chips and is actually pretty picky about the types he eats.  When I asked him what he thought of Salba Smart Organic Blue Corn Tortilla Chips he gave them a two thumbs up.  These lightly salted chips are nice and crunchy and contain 300 mg of Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids (ALA) Per Serving.  They are delicious!  And to go with the chips we tried Salba Smart Organic Medium Salsa.  Hubby swore it tasted fruity.  I loved the mild heat with lots of tomato, pepper and onion chunks!  The flavor is fresh and bright and really nice.  We added a squeeze of lime to add some extra zip and freshness.

I also received two other great products!  Whole Grain Salba and Premium Ground Salba.  There are so many ways to use Salba!  I’m in my glory!  Whole Grain & Premium Ground Salba can be added as an ingredient in baked goods, sauces, salads, cereals or in any of your favorite recipes. Salba doesn’t have much of a flavor on its own so it mixes well with just about any foods you add it to from muffin batters to fancy mixed green salads to meat loaf mixes to hot cereal.  It increases the fiber, protein, calcium and wow does it amp up the Omega 3′s!  Hubby will be hauling out the ice cream machine in a few weeks and I am going to try mixing in a bit of Premium Ground Salba into the Ice Cream mix before it goes into the machine.
