Same Crispy Ore-Ida. Now Grill-Friendly!
The weather this past week has been atrocious! Rain every single day and I mean it came down in buckets! Lord I missed grilling! When the first warm day hit back in March or April Hubby fired up the barbeque and we have been grilling ever since. It’s too hot here in Georgia to be turning on the oven every night. I’m a girl who can’t live without her potatoes so we toss those on the grill when we ‘cook out’ too. Unfortunately a great baked potato takes about 45 minutes on the grill while veggie dogs, burgers and grilled veggies are ready in about 15 minutes or less. The solution? Ore-Ida Grillers, thick-cut, round slices of potato that go from freezer to grilled in just fifteen minutes. Fancy that! A potato created especially for the barbeque and ready in the same amount of time as the other food I’m preparing. Can you say love love love?
I was Blessed to receive two coupons for Ore-Ida Grillers courtesy of my friends at Mom Central Consulting for Ore-Ida for review. Grillers are pretty popular in my neck of the woods! I was able to find the Golden Thick Cut Potatoes on my first trip to the store. But darn if the Seasoned Thick Cut Potatoes were not sold out in a few stores in my area for a few days. I can see why after finally finding, buying and grilling up these elusive little suckers! They are pretty darn yummy!
My loyal readers know “we love our food highly seasoned”. That doesn’t always mean fiery hot. It just means spiced and flavorful. So when I grill regular spuds I always place ‘em in foil and doctor them up with lots of spices. That’s why I’m absolutely wild about the Seasoned Thick Cut Grillers. They’re coated with a bit of black pepper, herbs and spices and they need nothing else but a dab of ketchup! Potato Purists and those that shy away from spices will probably prefer the Golden Thick Cut Grillers. My Little Guy who is 2 ½ loved the Seasoned Thick Cut Grillers like his Grampa and me! And my daughter preferred the Golden Thick Cut Potatoes. Both are delicious and grill up crunchy outside and moist and tender inside. And the great thing is there’s no peeling, scrubbing potatoes, heating up the kitchen or washing out a pan! I’d say Grillers are the perfect potato side dish!
Ore-Ida Grillers can be baked in the oven. But to be honest, I can buy a bag of regular fries and toss them in the oven. I much prefer grilling Ore-Ida Grillers! And the ease of a ‘one grill meal’ is easy peasy, isn’t that how summer is supposed to be?!
