The makers of Walkers Shortbread, the popular shortbread cookies we all know and love are also the bakers of the all natural Duchy Originals cookies I just found and introduced to my family. I was Blessed to receive a package of each flavor of Duchy Originals Cookies for review. Duchy Originals Cookies uses only the highest quality, best tasting ingredients in their products so their cookies taste amazing. Their cookies are all natural, contain non-GMO ingredients, are OU Kosher and are vegetarian.
If you’re like me you’re eco-conscious and looking for ways to lower your carbon footprint. Finding products that are made with sustainably grown ingredients using traditionally grown farming methods makes sense and that is just what Duchy Originals does. And they source their products locally and use less packaging which makes their product that much ‘greener’.
For a little person, My Little Guy who is only 2 ½ is very finicky about his cookies. He takes after is Gramma who loves chocolate. For the most part the little tyke loves a chocolate cookie, not a sugar coated, fudge covered cookie but a chocolate chip. So I wasn’t sure how he would like Duchy Originals Cookies. He does and so does my whole family!

Varieties Include
- Duchy Originals Highland All Butter Shortbread – My older daughter loves shortbread. I learned to make it when she was just a little girl. It’s her favorite cookie. Highland All Butter Shortbread is a bit different than a traditional cookie. They’re a bit more crumbly and not as sweet, which I love. They’re rich and buttery, the perfect little ‘something something’ to go along with your afternoon cuppa tea. And they’re made with real churned British butter!
- Duchy Originals Lemon All Butter Shortbread – I never thought of a cookie as refreshing but Lemon All Butter Shortbread come pretty darned close! Crystallized lemon peel from Sicily gives this cookie its unique citrus taste! They are irresistible! Serve these simple yet elegant shortbread cookies with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream! They’re the perfect way to end any meal! Psst, they are delicious with a cup of espresso too.
- Duchy Originals Stem Ginger All Butter Shortbread – If you love traditional gingersnap cookies I urge you to try Duchy Originals Stem Ginger All Butter Shortbread. These cookies are more buttery and a little less sweet than most of the traditional gingersnap cookies I’ve eaten in the past. Crystallized Australian stem ginger imparts a sweet spiciness I’ve never tasted in other ginger cookies. I usually wait for the cool autumn months to enjoy ginger cookies. I’m so glad I didn’t wait to open this package. Duchy Originals Stem Ginger All Butter Shortbread is delicious for dessert, as a snack or with a cup of tea or coffee.
- Duchy Originals Oaten Biscuit – For those that prefer a classic, elegant and not too sweet cookie I present the Oaten Biscuit! It’s almost a cross between a very fancy cracker and a shortbread cookie. Oaten Biscuits are pleasantly sweet and can be eaten plain but they’re delicious served with toppings like cheese, spreads and jam. Oaten Biscuits are made with oat and wheat flours grown on organic farms in the UK. Most grow a traditional variety of wheat called Maris Widgeon which grows unusually tall. As a result, it gives protection to native birds and insects while preventing weeds without the need for pesticides. So these cookies are not only delicious they’re great for the environment. I love that!
