Try Before You Buy! A Whole New Concept in Wine!
Hubby calls me a lightweight when it comes to wine drinking. I like to try new wines, sample a little taste and discover what’s new in the world of wines! I’m by no means a wine connoisseur, far from it in fact. When Hubby the Hubster opens a bottle of wine and starts to pour I usually hold up my hand and signal him to stop before the glass even has an ounce filling the bottom.
That’s why TastingRoom.com appeals to me! They offer wine lovers a fun, new way to discover, taste and buy wine that expands and enriches their wine-drinking experience. TastingRoom.com allows me to find a wine I love by tasting small amounts before I buy a large bottle of my absolute favorite. It’s wine my way! I can purchase wine samplers (they make great gifts too), wine by the glass or full size bottles and their price are very affordable!
I was Blessed to receive A Taste Adventure … Red and White Essentials (Taste Six Classic Red and White Wines) for review. Included in my elegant TastingRoom.com Wine Sampler were three red wines which Hubby’s really enjoyed and three light white wines which I really loved!

Hubby was away on business when the TastingRoom.com Wine Sampler arrived. I surprised him with the box when he arrived home. The Red and White Essentials Wine Tasting Menu included in the Wine Sampler box highlighted each wine’s flavors and aromas. There was even a place that allowed us to make notes and rate the wines, which was a lot of fun! I admit I’m a wine tasting novice so I found the “suggested tasting order” quite helpful.
Wines In The Red and White Essentials Sampler Include 1.7 oz Mini Bottles of:
- 2010 Dry Creek Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from Dry Creek Valley, California
- 2011 Chamisal “Stainless” Chardonnay from the Central Coast of California
- 2010 The Doctors’ Riesling from Marlborough, New Zealand
- 2010 Old Coach Road Pinot Noir from Nelson, New Zealand
- 2009 Twisted Oak “*%#&@!” Red Blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, and Syrah from Calaveras County, California
- 2008 Urraca Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza, Argentina
My favorite was the 2010 The Doctors’ Marlborough Riesling; a very low alcohol, sweet, fruity wine. It’s refreshing and light, the perfect sipping or picnic wine. Hubby being the red wine lover picked the 2010 Old Coach Road Nelson Pinot Noir as his favorite. I actually turned him on to Pinot Noir years ago and it’s become a favorite of his. Old Coach Road Nelson Pinot Noir is full of berry notes and is quite full-bodied and delicious.
Included in each sampler box is a card with a discount code which allows you to turn your sampler into a Super Flight™. After you’ve tasted your wine and found your favorites, get two full-sized bottles for up to 37% off by entering the promo code provided on the card at checkout! You can even buy two of the same wines!

What a great concept- I’ll have to look into getting this! I’m always trying to find a good wine that I will enjoy, but I don’t want to waste money on a whole bottle that I may not like!
This is so cute. I have been yelling at my hubby to take me wine tasting so i can find a wine i like, he hasn’t yet.
