Twice a year you’ll find me visiting my dentist, Dr. Frank Clayton.  At the end of each dental cleaning I schedule my next visit so I don’t forget.  It’s part of my health maintenance.  At my last visit at the dentist’s office I had my teeth cleaned by my hygienist and then Dr. Clayton checked my teeth for any problems.  I got a two thumbs up, well except for the grinding I’m doing.  Dr. Clayton made me promise to wear my night guard every single night and then we discussed the Crest Pro-Health Clinical Line Regimen from Crest & Oral-B, which is what I’ve been using since early spring.

I’m very familiar with these products!  They’ve been a regular part of my dental-oral hygiene for over six months.  The line consists of:

• Oral-B Pro-Health Clinical Pro-Flex Toothbrush – This is a great toothbrush for those who use a manual toothbrush.  I’ve used a sonic toothbrush for over 15 years.  I wish that the Crest Pro-Health Clinical Line from Crest & Oral-B included a sonic toothbrush.  In my opinion, it would make this line of products perfect!  That being said, the Oral-B Pro-Health Clinical Pro-Flex Toothbrush has soft bristles, which is imperative to avoid damaging gums, and flexing sides that adjust to the contours of my teeth and gumline.  It gets my teeth very clean but doesn’t allow me to ‘over-scrub’ which I love!  When I use a manual toothbrush I choose the Oral-B Pro-Health Clinical Pro-Flex Toothbrush.
• Crest Pro-Health Clinical Plaque Control Toothpaste – I must have a toothpaste with fluoride first and foremost; you bet Crest Pro-Health Clinical Plaque Control Toothpaste contains fluoride!  It’s a Crest product!  And because of my constant grinding (stress will do that to you) Dr. Clayton told me to find a toothpaste especially for sensitive teeth.  Check!  Crest Pro-Health Clinical Plaque Control Toothpaste builds increasing protection against painful sensitivity.  No more “ouchhhhhhh” when I take that sip of hot coffee!  Thank Goodness!  In addition, Crest Pro-Health Clinical Plaque Control Toothpaste significantly reduces plaque and keeps it from coming back by killing the germs that cause plaque slowing their ability to produce new plaque.  This means less time in the dentist’s chair to have the plaque scraped and scaled off my teeth.  I’m literally in and out in 15 minutes.  I have had no cavities, my teeth are pearly white and my breath is always fresh!

• Oral-B Glide Pro-Health Clinical Protection Floss – My teeth are spaced very close together.  I’ve had other brands of dental flosses get so stuck in my teeth they actually shred and wad up in the spaces between my teeth.  I worked on one such mess for over an hour one time before I gave up and went to the dentist to have him remove the balled up mess of floss that was wedged between two molars.  Mint flavored Oral-B Glide Pro-Health Clinical Protection Floss slides easily between my teeth and never gets stuck.  It’s just the right thickness so it removes debris that’s stuck between my teeth and leaves my teeth super clean.

Crest Pro-Health Clinical Rinse – This is one of the only mouthwashes I have ever used.  It’s alcohol free so it doesn’t make my mouth sore and dry.  Not only does it freshen my breath it keeps the plaque at bay.  Yep you heard me right!  Crest Pro-Health Clinical Rinse reduces plaque and keeps it from returning.  It even helps reverse gingivitis in two weeks.  Dr. Clayton says that adults my age (and I’m not ashamed to admit I’m 51) lose their teeth more often to gum disease than cavities. So you bet I’m a nut about periodontal gum disease!  Crest Pro-Health Clinical Rinse does foam up quite a bit so use as directed; four teaspoons swished for 30 seconds after brushing and flossing twice daily.  That’s really all you need.
