When cool weather kicks in I begin to crave heavy comfort foods! I have to remind myself that I’m not as active as I once was and just because these foods are available doesn’t mean I should be indulging. Thank goodness for Morningstar Farms! All their products are amazing and even Hubby the Hubster who proclaimed his first veggie burger 25 years ago a ‘mimic burger’ loves their ‘stuff’!
Our barbeque is still on the deck and open for business and you better believe my shopping cart is always filled with Morningstar Farms Veggie Meatballs, Chik’n Tenders and burgers! Morningstar Farms has over 30 meat-free products and a ton of yummerlicious recipes so going meatless is easy peasy. And their products taste awesome!!! Instead of a plain old veggie burger try a Grilled Cuban Burger with a side of Warm Italian Sausage, Potato and Arugula Salad. These recipes will satisfy meat-lovers as well as vegetarians!
Cuban Burger
Serves 1
Popularized in Miami, this burger features aged provolone cheese, dill pickle, red onion, and tomato.
Ingredients
| 2 teaspoons orange juice or tangerine juice |
| ½ teaspoon paprika |
| ¼ teaspoon ground cumin |
| 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder |
| 1 MorningStar Farms® Grillers® Original |
| 1 very thin slice aged provolone cheese or fontina cheese (1/3 oz) |
| 1 thin slice tomato |
| 1 thin slice red onion |
| 1 thin lengthwise slices dill pickle |
| 1 reduced-calorie hamburger bun, split and toasted |
Directions
- In small bowl stir together orange juice, paprika, cumin and garlic powder. Brush on both sides of MORNINGSTAR FARMS GRILLERS ORIGINAL veggie burger. Cook burger according to package directions.

So sad that I can’t buy morningstar in Canada anymore. I buy their products in bulk everytime I go to the US including a trip there today and bought among other things the corn dogs which the kids and I enjoyed for lunch. Love for them to sell in Canada and and to be able to enter this contest.
Yesterday, we bought a box of Morningstar Tomato & Basil Pizza Burgers, some cheese and rolls and made lunch at work….they were great, and it was less expensive than ordering in or going out!
