Sweet Heat Cookbook & Hell Fire Pepper Jelly {Rafflecopter Giveaway}

he brand new Sweet Heat cookbook has fifty ways to use jenkins jellies’ best-selling Hell Fire Pepper Jelly

Spice Up Your Meals The “Sweet Heat” Way with Hell Fire Pepper Jelly!

I fell in love lust with Jenkins Jellies back in the spring and I’ve been spooning and spreading Hell Fire Pepper Jelly on sandwiches, burgers, veggie dogs, veggie meat loaf and even using it in salad dressings ever since.  It makes a wonderful ingredient in marinades and it’s outrageous ladled over a brick of cream cheese and eaten with crackers.

I was Blessed to receive a copy of Sweet Heat: Cooking with Jenkins Jellies Hell Fire Pepper Jelly by Hillary Danner and Maria Newman for review.  (To go along with this fabulous cookbook Hillary and Maria included a jar of Hell Fire Pepper Jelly as well!)

I love my food highly seasoned and I’m always looking for healthy recipes that are full of flavor and pizzazz and I bet you are too.  The brand new Sweet Heat cookbook has fifty ways to use Jenkins Jellies’ best-selling Hell Fire Pepper Jelly in cocktails, appetizers, main dishes and zesty desserts.    This lovely ‘single-ingredient’ cookbook came at just the right time.  While I love Hell Fire Pepper Jelly I was yearning, craving actually more ways to use this sweet, spicy spread.  Before I dove into the actual recipes I read the Forward by actress and foodie Gwyneth Paltrow, who is a cousin of Hillary Danner’s.  It’s a must read so don’t skip it!

Sweet Heat includes 50 recipes for dishes that are totally awesome.  I’m a good cook and wouldn’t have imagined how delicious Hell Fire Pepper Jelly is in drinks and desserts, but there are whole chapters devoted to these recipes.  Don’t skim over the appetizers, sauces & dips, sides & salads and main dishes though.  Each chapter holds a treasure trove of easy to prepare recipes and you guessed it they all start with Hell Fire Pepper Jelly!

I’ve made baked brie before and it’s received rave reviews.  My recipe calls for blackberry preserves but for a Sweet Heat twist you’ve got to try the Melt-Me Baked Brie.  It’s so darned easy to make with just three ingredients.  It’s an elegant appetizer that will have your guests thinking you slaved all day in the kitchen preparing for their arrival.  Add a few crackers or sliced baguettes and it’s a party!

I laughed like a banshee when I saw the Nuts on Fire! and Noodles from Hell recipes  Pssst…They look delicious!  Sweet Heat features quite a few main dish recipes.  My favorites include Curried Tofu Temptation and Pizza Stu with Pizzazz.  Pizza with Hell Fire Pepper Jelly is out of this world and this recipe is the perfect balance of sweet and heat.  The addition of fresh arugula right at the end gives this pizza a fresh, unique taste.  Be sure to serve with a jar of Hell Fire Pepper Jelly on the side!

If you love dessert, and who doesn’t be sure to try the Fire & Ice Cream Sundae (top it with some roughly chopped Nuts on Fire!)  And be sure to end the evening with a Sweet Heat Drink, be it Hot Hot Cocoa or if you’re a little more daring a Dangerous Daiquiri or Tantalizing Choco-Tini.
