I love hummus and eat it a few times a week. It’s a food I enjoy for every meal of the day. I recently got the opportunity to try Lilly’s Hummus, a brand that was new to me. I usually reach for hummus with toppings or grab a hummus and then add toppings of my own. I’ve got to tell you that Lilly’s Hummus absolutely wowed me! Hands down this is the best hummus I’ve ever eaten and that includes the hummus I’ve enjoyed at the fanciest vegetarian restaurants Hubby and I have visited.
I was Blessed to receive an assortment of Lilly’s Hummus for review.
Lilly’s is not a giant conglomerate. They are a small, family owned natural foods company located in Portland Oregon. Their hummus is made with organic garbanzo and black beans and real olive oil. You won’t find trans-fat, preservatives or artificial ingredients in any of their products.
All of the veggies they use in their outrageously delicious hummuses are locally sourced and hand-roasted over hazelnut briquettes, which are made from hazelnut shells, a renewable resource indigenous to the Pacific Northwest.
The first thing I noticed when Lilly’s Hummus arrived is that the expiration date was not four or five months away. I knew immediately I had a winner on my hands! I checked the labels and I recognized every single ingredient on each tub of hummus. Lilly’s Hummus is all-natural and all the flavors are gluten-free.
Lilly’s Hummus is smooth, silky and has an almost ethereal texture. It’s tangy, flavorful, light and refreshing. But at the same time Lilly’s Hummus has a complexity I’ve never experienced with any other hummus. I’m crazy about Roasted Red Peppers so that was the first tub I opened. I couldn’t stop dipping, spooning, and smearing that hummus! I wasn’t expecting the smokiness of the peppers or perfect balance of flavors. And the texture was pure luxury, so rich and creamy.
The nice thing about Lilly’s Hummus is that each flavor is perfectly balanced. Jalapeno doesn’t smack you in the face when you eat the Roasted Jalapeno Hummus and the Kalamata Olive Hummus isn’t overly salty like so many other brands of hummus tend to be. Lilly’s Original Hummus is zesty and full of flavor too. There is nothing plain or original about any of Lilly’s products. It’s hard not to lick your fingers while eating Lilly’s Hummus, it’s that good!

I’d love to try all these. Red Pepper is our favorite. I don’t think I’ve ever found a Jalepeno which I’d love. I’m sure I’ve never seen black pepper, my favorite spice, so I’d love to try that as well. My daughter is crazy about hummus I’m sure would love the black bean. Thanks so much for the giveaway.
