Musselman’s Apple Butter {Review} #AppleButterRecipes

If you like jellies, jams and preserves on your breakfast breads and you’ve never had the pleasure of tasting apple butter; you’re in for a treat!  There is nothing like a slice of thick, hot toast topped with Musselman’s Apple Butter!  My mind just wandered back to my childhood and I remembered my mom raving about Musselman’s Apple Butter.  I thought it was something related to butter and was surprised when my mom presented me with a yummy slice of bread slathered with a sweet, slightly spicy spread!  That’s when my love affair with apple butter began!

Years later when I began searching for low-fat baking alternatives, I turned to Musselman’s Apple Butter which can be used in place of oil in many dessert recipes with glorious results!  But that’s as far as my experimentation went.  I never thought to use apple butter in other recipes, but I should have!  It adds zip to sauces and dips, turns boring sandwiches into sure-fire winners and adds a flavorful kick to recipes!

I’ve found some really easy, fun and quick recipes that incorporate Musselman’s Apple Butter.  This past weekend I thought I’d surprise the boys with Apple Cinnamon Buns!  They usually wake up pretty hungry so if I’m not up flipping pancakes or stirring muffin batter before they wake up I need to make sure whatever I serve is ready fast!  Musselman’s Apple Cinnamon Buns are so easy to make!  Prep time is about five minutes, the recipe only has three ingredients and bake time is less than 20 minutes!  How easy is that?

Musselman’s Apple Cinnamon Buns

Apple Cinnamon Buns are made with Musselman's Apple Butter and take less than 20 minutes to make!
Ingredients

  • ½ cup MUSSELMAN’S Apple Butter
  • 1 pkg crescent roll sheets
  • ½ cup canned cream cheese icing
  • 2 Tbsp MUSSELMAN’S Apple Butter

Directions

  1. Grease 9 inch cake pan and pre-heat oven to 350°.  Open crescent roll and lay dough out flat on a cutting board. Dollop ½ cup of apple butter onto the dough and spread out evenly.  Cut the dough into ½ inch strips.  A pizza cutter works great for this.  Roll each strip with the apple butter side in and place on its side in the pan.  Bake for 18 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Mix ½ cup of cream cheese icing with 2 Tbsp of apple butter. Drizzle icing over warm rolls.  Makes 8 servings.
