Merci Chocolates are made with fine European chocolate! Award Season is upon us once again!  I’m not much of a movie-goer but you bet I’ll be tuning in on Sunday February 24th to watch the 85th Academy Awards!  I don’t know who was nominated for “Best Foreign Language Film”.  And I’m not even sure of all the nominees for “Best Picture.”   The reason I’ll be glued to my television has more to do with what my favorite Hollywood celebrities will be wearing (or ahemm not wearing :) ) and saying!

Red carpet at 81st Annual Academy Awards in Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles. Many superstars known for their fine acting ability have handwritten scrolls that they read from.  It amazes me that they show little emotion and never look up from the page.  After a few minutes the music comes on and the ‘speech’ officially comes to a close as they’re whisked offstage.  I get such a kick outta that!  You know you do too!

The most memorable and meaningful thank you speeches always seem to come from the heart and convey to everyone listening a deep appreciation and sense of gratitude.  Halle Berry’s thank you speech at the 74th Academy Awards for Best Actress in Monster’s Ball 2001 brought tears to my eyes.  These are the speeches I remember!

It’s important to remember that giving someone a heart-felt thank you isn’t just a once a year gesture though. Giving a genuine thank you is a way to show people you love that they are appreciated every single day.
